Just new to this job, wondering if anybody here ever had experience with them and can tell me what they think about it.

I'm pretty sure this is the same company that comes to my hotel about once a year......they bring in lots of college age "employees"....I think it's to honor their top salespeople.  So, I guess they have a bit of money to throw around, haha.

It's a scam. Don't believe any of the numbers you hear. Run away while you can.

Your "business" is going to be entirely dependent on selling to family members and other people who you can guilt-trip into buying incredibly expensive knives. If you're not incredible at sales, you're screwed. And if you're incredible at sales, you can make much more as guaranteed employment working for Best Buy or something.

I hear that Cutco's main source of income is in the demo knives they sell to "employees" who quit right away and get stuck with their expensive demo set.

I'm sure you found Vector through an obscure billboard or college newspaper ad ad guaranteeing $16 an hour or god knows what, right? Notice how they didn't say anything about who they were. That means it's too good to be true, which it is.

thanks turkeyslam for the info, i mean i already made back the money i spent for the sample kit and a little bit more by getting paid for the appointments and little bit of sales i did with family and friends, but i can see how its not something that you can really make consistent salary from, also considering the high gas prices i would be paying driving to peoples houses that live all over the place to do the demos. but i guess ill stick with it at least for a little while, see how i do with sales with the reccomendations i got from my initial appointments with family and friends. But i can see what you mean, i saw the ad on craigslist, and they didnt even say who they were exactly and i didnt find out until i went for the interview.
