Did nVIDIA Graphic Card detect, went to graphic card driver area, no available updates.

What is the Brand and Model of your video card Alan? I'll search for one for you. There's bound to be an Open GL update for your video card's driver.

nVidia GeForce2, MX 200/400 (Or MX 100/200, it's standard video card, nothing special)

Have fun.  :indifferent:

Wait, I found something. I'm going to try it at home. I had to do a manual search. The automatic one says no drivers have ever came out for it. I'm going to check once I get home (I'm in a class now at UCF. I get out at 2PM, will get back around 5 or so)

Try this driver version:

http://www.nvidia.com/object/winvista_x86_163.75.html

Then replace the nv_disp.inf that appears in the directory you unpacked the stuff into with the modded inf from here:
http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=15369

And then you install the driver manually using this method:
http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=11997

You need to do this, since the card you're using isn't normally listed as being supported by the driver (it's quite old).  Hope this helps!

valius, those graphic card drivers are not supported by graphics card. I am running a older one, nVidia GeForce MX 400.

And I downloaded THIS \ one, however, it said that I was not running windows, but another OS :S

After further looking around, that driver does NOT include Vista, only 2000- Media center. So I don't think there is any way I can play PumpPC with my graphics card and vista. I'm going to try to pull drivers from Windows.old and move them to the vista, however, that may not work...

:edit: I am googling a way to patch the xp driver...

you won't find vista certified drivers for that card beyond vista's vanilla vga. nvidia will only be releasing vista drivers for geforce 6xxx and later GPUs.

No no, don't worry about the drivers not accepting your hardware.  The point of the modded INF file is so that it circumvents that problem, so the driver will work for even your old NVIDIA card.  BY default, your card is not included, but the INF file makes it so that it does include it.

Just follow the instructions I gave below and make sure to use the modded INF in the second link.

Alright then. Where does the .inf go? I downloaded the first link, and it said my video card is not supported be the driver.

After you run the EXE from Nvidia, the EXE should've extracted a bunch of stuff to "C:\Nvidia" which is the default location, unless you specified a different one when it asked.  In the folder that the EXE extracted to... look for nv_disp.inf, and replace that with the modded INF.

Then you just use the "Have Disk" method stated in the third link I posted up to use that inf and install the drivers for your card.

I did all of this, and get all the way to the end. When I 'update' the driver, it says that Age of Empires does not support it, and I have NEVER had that 'sorry excuse of a game' installed on my computer. I followed the link from Microsoft and am downloading this update of AoE. ugh.

If this doesn't work, I'll send you a PM so you can remote connect to my PC to do it, i've tried everything. I even uninstalled the driver and downloaded the modded one. T.T

:edit: I deleted my old driver folder and did it again, I think the problem was i got the forceware and re-modded the .inf, rather than downloading it from the link given on the forum :|
And it works.

I LOVE YOU VALIUS!!!!!!

Thanks for wasting all of that time with me! I think those links will come in handy with people running on older video cards.

::edit2:: Damn, the modded driver is working, however, Windows is rejecting it. It says 'Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems (Code 43).

Hmmm... try lower versions of the Vista drivers and the corresponding modded INF?
