Now on to the guide. -------------------------- What you need ; -------------------------- 2x 4pin Male Molex Connectors (or 3pin, just dont need the 5v) 2x PIU 6pin pad power connectors (Spare ones unless you just want to gut your cab, and make sure they are the ones that will connect to your pads, Not the ones that are inside of the pads!) Zip ties Heat shrink. (3/8" to 3/32nd") Wire strippers Something to heat up the heatshrink (Heat gun, soldering iron, hotplate, Whatever you can use, if you use a lighter be god damn careful, this isnt designed to be heated by open flame) -----------------------------
Start off by cutting off the end of your male molex connectors wires as far as you can leaving you with as much wire length as possible. (You want a longer power connector right?)
If you decided to heatshrink the bulk of the wires together, Go ahead and slide down your last big piece of heatshrink over the wires (I was dumb and did not get a large enough piece, So it will not fit over them like it should, instead it will just be holding the wires together)
Now, Take some zip ties out for extra security, And just pull them down tightly directly at the middle of where you twisted the wires, and slightly further down a bit, just to make sure that they are held on tightly not only by the compression of the shrinkwrap, but zip ties compressing the shrink wrap to the wires.
Once finished, You will have a Very nice looking little PIU pad to molex connector, Meaning from any generic PC, using 4 molex connectors you can power both dancepads, the jamma pcb, and piuio, Letting you play pump it up with nothing but an MK9, No cabinet or special things needed!
If you could, could you describe which color goes to which pin on your PIU power connector just for reference?
Thanks a million!
Two wires on the 6pin PIU pad power connector will remain completely disconnected, they are not needed if that is what you`re asking.
Sorry for the insane delay in response. I honestly never saw this appear until a moment ago... which is very unusual.
The wire color / wiring should be the same across all pad models. Even the latest CX/TX dancepads.
What it sounds like...Is that the power supply is not turned on currently. even if you flip the switch on in the back, if it does not detect a motherboard jumping a specific two pins on the 24/28 pin connector, it wont send power to any of the molex connectors.
I expected people just to plug it into the molex for their computer that was inside of the MK, So. Sorry I didnt specify.
