Next weekend I'm getting my very own PIU machine! An old SD cabinet:)
It has a dead game board however..
I see that newer games are very expensive for a full kit so I would like to put a pc in it instead.
I used to have PIU Pro running on my pc but have since lost it and can't find it anywhere online for the life of me.
Is that or pro 2 available anywhere?
Otherwise do any other games run on a normal pc?
I don't want to mess around with simfiles if I can help it. Plus I like to play freestyle/nightmare and some charts seem to be missing those.

Thanks in advance,
James

The Pro games are obsolete, we're all using StepF2 these days.  Just download the game, install the song packs and backgrounds, and you're good to go.  Every song from every mix is there up through Prime, and it's all you'll really ever need right now.

Nirvash on another thread made an entire tutorial on how to rig it up to a machine, it'll show you everything you need.

Congrats on the machine, by the way!

Yes, use Step F2. I use it myself on a regular computer + custom USB pad setup, and it's really great. Looks, feels and functions 99% like an official Fiesta2 machine, and yes, it has song packs for every mix from 1st to Prime, with BGAs included for all except Prime.

I'm going to start playing with it tonight so hopefully I'll have something nearly ready to run in the cab by the time I get it next weekend.
It had the obg in it and it turns out the game board went in the bin, so I really hope all the stuff I need to connect it to a pc is still in there.. Also not sure if the piuio is the same for cabs that early.. Here's hoping.

More research!
I have discovered that since my machine was 3rd obg it will not have a piuio board.
Given that I have to buy one, am I better off with a piuio or a jpac?
Also does the piuio control the cabinet lights too? Or is that seperate?

piuio, you already have the jamma board, you only need the usbio and the new mobo, and yes piuio controls the lights

Also  you know, mk3 can be repaired

Yup, PiUIOs are literally just little boards that are shaped like PCI boards and fit in that slot, but interface over USB.   So you could build out just about any computer and run StepF2 with it, since it works with USB.  Plug that right into your JAMMA and you should be good to go.

As for your lights, StepF2 doesn't support that (right now, anyway).  Sucks, but it's a decent tradeoff to just having every song.  And I'm pretty sure the lights are controlled over the PIUIO, but if you wanted them, you'd have to rig up some DIY solution.  Honestly, they'd be cool to have, but I don't miss them too much.   :P  I have an SD cabinet that came with Exceed 2 myself, and I ended up just disconnecting the bottom two lights because they kept shining in my eyes.

If you want any pictures of how I've got stuff rigged up, just let me know.

You could even build yourself an MK9 as the PC (MK9 parts are all off the shelf) to run Step F2 and with the PIUIO, you could even eventually run newer mixes from Fiesta - Prime if you ever get a kit in the future.

The guy I'm getting the machine from has no game board at all, so I don't have the piuio or the jamma board, I discovered I had an old Jpac in the shed so I'm going to use that for now.
I've been in contact with an arcade repairer here in Australia who says he has customized ITG3 with all the songs and it also has support for the cabinet lights via a Jdriver board.
Does anyone have any experience with itg3 or openitg with pump it up?
