So it's been almost 4 months since my local D&B upgraded to Prime, and the machine still does not have an internet connection. I asked multiple times, and every time, the tech said that they don't know when they'll be getting it.

Furthermore, when I asked if they could turn up the machine's volume (it's really quiet again), the guy told me that they "changed the locks" and that he can't access the machine's control panel...WTF? So the techs aren't allowed to do their job? What is that shit? Last week, the machine was nice and loud, but when I went there tonight, it was super quiet; I could barely hear the music over the radio blaring throughout the place.

Anyway, if the game techs can't tell me anything about getting a connection for the machine, who exactly do I contact from here? The manager of the location?

Don't know about D&B, but I can tell you how arcades are managed here in Russia. Yes, according to the rules that most arcades have, techs really don't have permission to do ANY changes in machine settings at all without higher-ups. But if client asks about something small (to change the volume or something in this lines) they do it quietly, without any permission. Anyhow, your best bet is to talk to management of this arcade and if doesn't work out write to the chain management.

Yeah, previous times when the pads were having issues (one of the sensors would get stuck from time to time), I'd go and ask one of them and he'd just go right in and open up the front panel, and access the operator menu of the machine to get to the input test.

Two weeks ago, the machine volume was really loud, but now it's back to being really quiet again, and the tech told me that he was told to not touch the machine's control panel.

I guess I'll have to get a hold of the manager somehow. At the very least I'd like the volume to not be insanely quiet...half the songs I can't even hear the lyrics because the radio playing throughout the place is so loud.

Hey, gotmilk. I'm a senior technician for Dave and Buster's. I'm assuming that since you're from RI you're referring to the Providence store? If so, I will happily reach out to the Amusement Manager and see if he has any plans for bringing the machine online. Just keep in mind that doing good so would mean running a dedicated hardline, so even if I'm able to get him to move forward with it, it will take some time.

Our Senior VP of Games Strategy has been putting a lot of focus on dance games lately. Between upgrading all Pump machines to Prime across the entire company and replacing old DDR machines with a newer model, the whole dance game scene has gotten a lot of recent attention from DNB.

As far as the game volume, DnB has specific requirements. It's called the 5'/10' rule. In attract mode, you should be able to hear the game from 10' away. In game mode, 5'. Since Pump only has one volume setting then it only applies to the 5' requirement. You should be able to hear the volume clearly while playing.

Let me know if Providence is the correct store and I'll reach out to them about this and we'll go from there.

Also... with volume being a specific setting established by corporate, the regular game techs are not permitted to make adjustments. That's probably why the manager changed the locks. So busting their chops really isn't going to get you anywhere. They're at the bottom of the totem pole and just doing what they can without getting themselves fired. =/

Yeah, there's only one D&B in RI: the Providence location.

Are you sure they have to run a new line for an Ethernet cable? A few times, I saw what appeared to be a modem/router behind the Super Monkey Ball machine, which is right next to the Pump machine.

Being that it's been 4 months since they upgraded to Prime and there's still no internet connection, I'm doubtful that there ever will be one, but if you can give someone a poke about it, that'd be great.

And about volume...the volume was at an okay level for the longest time (I've been playing on this same machine since 2007!) but in early 2016 they turned the volume down. Back in mid-June however, they turned the volume up for about 1 week, and the machine was nice and loud. After that though, they turned it back down and it's been really quiet ever since.

Yeah, you can *hear* the machine from 5 feet away, but different songs have different volume levels. Some songs I can hear decently, but other songs are so quiet that I can't even hear the lyrics, and this is when I'm standing on the pads. I didn't annoy the techs about it, I just asked once, "is it possible to turn up the volume, it's really quiet" and the guy told me that they weren't allowed to touch it.

Pump has attract/game volume settings, Prime for sure and I believe one or two previous mixes like FEX/F2 have it as well?
