Hello all, I wasn't sure whether to put this in the PIU forum or the lounge. Mods please move if otherwise. Anyway, I am a programmer and since I finally got Windows running on my MK9 I was thinking what I could do with it and I got the greatest idea. I made a music game a while ago called Dancing Inferno 3 that supports real-time multiplayer via online. The MK9 is powerful enough to handle a port of my software and I thought hey, thats something different from Pump and Stepmania so I wanted to ask if I do go about this project would any of you play it? And how many of you have an MK9 opposed to an MK6 as I'm almost certain it'd be too much for a 6.
Here are some screenshots of the game. Let me know.

It'd be nice, but I think we'd be better off trying to mod Stepmania to do that, instead of creating a whole new rhythm game from scratch.

I remember DDR Ultramix on Xbox had simultaneous online multiplayer. Was pretty fun, although barely anyone played it.

Yeah, thats what I was thinking.
I was considering putting in minigames as well but some Stepmania songs already have lua code to implement that in there anyway. I guess I'll just leave it PC only or just do a "lazy port" for the sake of S&Gs. Technically, it wouldn't even be a port but optimization anyway, we don't have access to PIUIO outputs though either so that'd be a challenge. There was a minor gameplay element that was implemented with a little serial microprocessor called an SSC-32. lol

You dont need to worry about any of that. Its been taken care of.

It is not difficult to do lua minigames with stepmanias engine or StepF2`s engine.
A few have been done and uploaded already, and stuff like Mawaru Infinity works fine in StepF2.
They just need to be coded properly for such things.

Though. as much as I love pump and 5panel. I do kind of want to see an original 5panel game. Not a minigame but. something extreme like the not-itg game where you play the role of a doctor~

Its still 4panel gaming but, Its also still very different =3

New kid on the block. As much as stepmanias engine might be the best thing since sliced bread, there may be some room to improve on it, and streamline it down, to be more suited for pump.
But then again I might be wrong.

That is the idea behind StepF2 and StepAMX

Although, this project may already be dead due to a lack of interest.
,it's planned to have monthly challenges and a lot of things that'd make it different. Without spoiling too much, you would declare a faction at the end of the month, play specific songs and the total sum of points, bonuses are added for having perfect timing and/or not missing notes is tallied.  The faction with the highest amount of points is declared the winner.

It's not my intention to compete with StepF2 or any other project. Just to bring something new to the table and get my name out there.

If you want to give it a shot go for it =3 Dont let others get you down.

If you make the project and it turns out to be something awesome worth playing people will play it =3
