On Saturday, Jake made a interesting discovery. At a routine trip to savers(thrift store), looking for cheap printers/scanners/other junk people don't need, Jake found weird looking video game system. It had Sonic the Hedgehog loaded in it and looked a bit like a blue ps1. Upon further investigation, It had the PIU logo all over it. He looked around a bit more and found an actual PIU cartridge for the Sega Genesis. Well, actually the mega drive. AND he found a PIU pad, similar to the pc pads but with a Genesis connector.

I give you Sega Genesis Pump it Up:
(I have a video I will upload later)

It has a total of 8 songs, all og Banya stuff. The sound quality is surprising, given that it is running off a Genesis cartridge. There is an easy, normal and hard mode and so far the charts seem to be original to this game, that is, they are different from the arcade songs. The system has a two prong Korean style power cord and it appears that this was made for the KDM. It is a functioning Genesis, we booted up Sonic on it and it worked just fine. We didn't have a controller though.

I will get more later, I was in a hurry and didn't have time. Hopefully we will be able to create an image of the rom soon so everyone can play with it. The pad did NOT work to control Sonic so at this point we aren't quite sure how the pad interfaces with the system. I am getting a Genesis(an actual one from Sega) tonight to see if Piu will play on that.

I just noticed in the video that jumps add 2 steps to your combo instead of 1. Was it like that back in the day for older Pump mixes, or is this the only one to do it like that?

I'm going to say cheap Chinese knock off. The branding on the console itself is "MEGA", not "SEGA"
