What kind of music are you all fans of, and what do you listen to?

My musical tastes are extremely eclectic... I'll listen to just about everything, yet I usually hate anything that's mainstream. The only Korean artist I really listen to outside the Pump world is Seo Taiji, because the range of music he covers is incredible. Weird Al Yankovic has always been one of my favorite artists... I have tons of his CDs. If I'm in road trips or whatever, I tend to listen to bands and groups that nobody's heard of before... usually ones that only released an album or two. Groups like the Transplants, Fastball, Rehab... strange stuff like that. And I like listening to video game music remixes here and there, and to top it off some classical music when relaxing or when I'm gonna go to sleep.

Bah, I was about to make a thread similar to this. Beat me to it.

I listen to mostly classical. I was bored enough to figure out percentages. Yeah, that's pretty bored. 84% of my CDs are classical, and few are the same composer. I have everything from JS Bach to Mahler and Shostakovich to Nicholas Maw. 11% are Beatles, and the remaining 5% is Weird Al.

On a warm, sunny day you'll often find me cruising down the high way, windows down, sunroof open, and blasting out some classical till my rear view mirror shakes. It's awesome.

So I guess you could say my favorite genres are classical and classic rock/60s. I do have my pump/Korean mp3s, but my CD burner is, last time I checked, busted. So I have to get that fixed.

So is mine... as a matter of fact, it broke three days ago when I stupidly left the computer on overnight by accident, when the CD drive wouldn't open. I came back the next morning hearing extremely loud sounds like my burner was being raped. Something kept it spinning like crazy all night long and the CD inside was toasted and now it doesn't work... agh.

I have a ton of classical CDs too, and I have no idea where I got them all. I've had them since I was 6 or something... I just pick one at random when I'm not tired but need to go to sleep. It works miracles.

And btw, this forum is pretty dead anyway, so don't feel bad if I beat you to the punch on a thread. Feel free to make a thread or two... or twelve. We need it. :D

What about you all?

Wow...you said almost everything I was going to say. Except for the fact that I'm a total movie soundtrack nut, and that I also am very fond of 90's electronica (i.e. Moby, Crystal Method, Orbital).

Mmmm im a mixed bag here. :p

Usually i like to listen to soft rock/rock like not OMGWTFROEHWKFJWHEKJFH loud stuff.
However this trend breaks once in a while, for Taiji, Cherry Filter, Novasonic etc

Obviously im becoming hooked to Korean Music, from like Cherry Filter.
but i also listen to J stuff, and Arabic, mwaha Fairouz for me.

Im also a enjoyer of Trance. On occassion. Maybe its more like Ambience. However some songs (from beatmania) really got to me.

Lets not forget Ballades! And healing pianos! :p

I have no Idea.

No really, I haven't found any one genre of music I love more than anything else. My musical tastes(which are awful by the way) depend only on a song by song basis.

The only band that I consistently love is Weezer. But every other band in their genre is one I generally hate.

:indifferent:

You listen to the same stuff as me? Huh?

Or do you just have an eclectic taste in music?

Well I love Weird Al, I don't like mainstream, I don't listen to much Asian music outside the Pump world, I like little-known artists (especially European ones), I listen to video game remixes and RPG music, and I listen to classical music while working or dozing off.

So while the actual music I listen to isn't EXACTLY the same as yours, Turkey, I seem to have similar tastes. Although, as I said, I'm a huge movie soundtrack nut. Am I really the only person here who thinks "Requiem For a Dream" has the most amazing original music ever written?
