Don't even care that this forum is pretty much dead, I just want to gush about this.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA the D&B at Providence Place is finally upgrading to Prime! About fucking time you upgraded from Fiesta 1, assholes!
I was a bit worried that the hardware might be too old to handle Prime, being that the machine was originally an Exceed(at least, it was Exceed when I first found it back in 2005 or so), then upgraded to Zero, then upgraded to Fiesta, but apparently it's either fine, or they're upgrading the internal hardware as well.

Yay, finally being able to play Deja Vu Full S16 again!
Yay, having access to more pre-Exceed songs, and new charts for them as well!
Yay, finally having access to all the fun new Fiesta Ex/2, Infinity, and Prime songs!
Yay, new USB system that won't randomly corrupt itself!

Heard about it. Congrats.
But requires to be online.

Not just yours, but the whole Dave and Busters chain that has Pump, from what I've heard.

I'm fairly certain that the machine is internet connected, due to how the World EXP Ranking list in Fiesta 1 was populated with names of players from all around the country.
Yeah, there's another D&B location about an hour north of me, brand-new location (the place just opened last spring), that apparently has a Prime TX cabinet. I was planning on going up there but...eeegghh, that long of a drive, just to play Pump. Too lazy.
Why they decided to wait so goddamn long to upgrade the Providence location's machine though, is beyond me. In Jan 2013 one of the other local players told me that it was going to be upgraded to Fiesta 2 "soon", but that never happened.
Posted by: Salem Cat on 06:54 CST :: 3/31/2016
This records had nothing to do with internet at all. This was just how this USB system worked. World exp table could be updated through USB saves via PumBy, that's all.

Oh well, I'm fairly certain there's an ethernet port on the wall near the machine, at least, I remember seeing some kind of little ethernet hub plugged into the wall next to the Pump machine. That's the other thing that led me to believe that the machine is internet connected.

This is be pretty fantastic if it's true. Now I could either play with friends on a TX cabinet at a location far away, or stay close to home and play on an older DX cabinet in an environment that doesn't have nearly as much ambient noise. Good options.

Yep, Providence has Prime now. However, it does not appear to have an internet connection (the title screen has a big old "OFFLINE", and the machine does not recognize USB) so the machine is still on patch 1.13.

Though, does the machine not recognizing the USB have anything to do with the lack of an internet connection? Just a bit worried that the tech might have screwed something up, but when I plug in my USB, it does appear to be getting power (the little light on it lights up) so...yeah.
Looking through the location DB, it seems a lot of D&B locations are not connecting their Prime machines to the internet. That's not a good sign.
< MY LOVE! YOU'VE COME BACK TO ME! >
Also, what is it with Andamiro and seemingly refusing to bring back songs from NX/NX2? They only brought back like...3 or 4 of them. So many songs from NX2 that I miss really badly, like It's My Business, Money, For You, etc...or are those introduced in later patches? I'm fairly certain I saw a video of Money being played on a Prime machine.
Posted by: Nico on 12:02 CST :: 4/01/2016
Money's not in Prime. We haven't gotten any license (Kpop/Pop) revivals since Fiesta EX in 2011, and that's the majority of what's missing from the NX series.
Posted by: gotmilk0112 on 12:09 CST :: 4/01/2016
Mmhm, I'm looking through YouTube again, and that video of Money was Fiesta 2, not Prime....okay how the fuck did they revive it for F2 but not Prime? That makes no sense.
Guess I'm going to have to wait for my PDP pad to arrive before I can play all those NX/NX2 licenses, bleh.

Also yes, the tech guy confirmed this, saying that all D&B locations were upgrading their Pump machines.
Posted by: TheBIGbadJackal on 15:03 CST :: 4/01/2016
Without an internet connection, your USB is useless. Well, it'll still show your UCS charts as available, but it will most likely just kick you back to the song selection.
Posted by: gotmilk0112 on 15:50 CST :: 4/01/2016
Ah, alright. Was just a bit worried there, even if the USB did appear to be getting power.
What does it take to connect the machine to the internet, anyway? It can't be more complicated than just plugging in an Ethernet cable, right? Looking around the Location Database, it seems that a lot of D&B Prime machines are not internet connected, and this one here in Providence is also not connected, but there appears to be a couple of Ethernet ports on the wall right next to the machine, so connecting it would literally just be a matter of plugging in an Ethernet cable, correct?
Posted by: TheBIGbadJackal on 23:10 CST :: 4/01/2016
As far as I know, you just have to run an ethernet cable to a router and that's it.
Also confirmed that D&B in Maple Grove, MN has just updated from NX to Prime. A huge leap and it's about time that machine got some love.
Posted by: gotmilk0112 on 07:02 CST :: 4/02/2016
Well good; if the techs are still confused about it, I can tell them that it's as simple as plugging an Ethernet in. There's a couple Ethernet ports on the wall right next to the machine, however, I'm unsure if they're actually connected or not, seeing as there's this weird 1-foot Ethernet cable with both ends plugged into the two ports. Either way, I can tell them that all they need to do is plug it into the wall; no extra hardware or complicated setup required.
Yeesh, NX? And I thought it was obnoxious having Fiesta for 6 years. NX isn't a bad mix at all, though.

According to a special guy, Yeah. Every D&B across the USA is getting cabs or getting prime upgrades.
Posted by: gotmilk0112 on 23:21 CST :: 4/02/2016
Yep, that's what the tech guy at my local D&B said, that all D&B locations are upgrading their PIU machines.
He also said that the video card on our machine "crapped out" and they had to replace it. Probably explains why the game now costs 6.8 credits instead of 5.9 like before.
Posted by: ThatDudeNirvash on 23:52 CST :: 4/02/2016
Nah. They are just dirty liars if thats their reasoning.
a graphics card for even the newest andamiro MK9`s costs less than 20 usd
Posted by: gotmilk0112 on 07:55 CST :: 4/03/2016
That wasn't their reasoning, just my guess.
It's probably to offset the cost of the upgrade or something, then. It has been 5.9 credits per game for as long as I can remember, but now after the Prime upgrade, it's 6.8 credits.
Not much of a difference anyway; I only recharge my card when I get the "buy $10 get $10 free" and "buy $20 get $20 free" coupons from them, which ends up making it cost $1 per 10 credits. So going from 59 cents per game to 68 cents per game is not a big deal.

Are any D+B primes online? My location (Livonia, MI) used to be online when they were on Fiesta 2 IIRC. Or at the very least USB worked. Then they downgraded to Fiesta EX and USB did not work and also not working now that we have Prime. Machine is not online.
Posted by: ohnoitschris on 11:31 CST :: 4/10/2016
You have to map the USB ports manually in the service menu, so they probably just slapped the HDD in, set the price, and called it a day. You should nag the management about it.
Posted by: scurrilous on 17:53 CST :: 4/10/2016
Yeah I'm gonna have to do that.
Also it's not running in HD which is weird since it's a TX cabinet.

Quick questions in here since I can't make new threads yet.
1. Is it possible to enable USB without internet?
2. In order to setup internet, is it as easy as plugging in ethernet? or are there things to do in menu.
3. How to change video output to HD? From what I can tell from searching it seems like there is an auto and manual output option but I can't really tell the details.
4. Is using a USB how you unlock songs? I really have no idea. Haven't played pump much since Exceed 2 days.. And I've never known how to unlock songs. I think I see how to do it on piugame.com but it requires me to use my USB.
Just wondering so I know what I'm getting in to before I go back to Dave and Busters.
Posted by: gotmilk0112 on 23:01 CST :: 4/14/2016
Prime USB is disabled if there's no internet connection. And yes, people have told me that getting an internet connection is as simple as plugging in the ethernet; the machine should automatically run its updater and download/apply the latest patch.
And I don't think any songs are unlocked with USB. Not sure, though.
Posted by: Salem Cat on 00:19 CST :: 4/15/2016
Yes, you can setup USB without internet, but machine will not recognise it.
Just plug ethernet ant that's it
There are 2 options in the menu: Auto(default) and SD. If Auto is selected and image is still SD then your display in TX doesn't support HD.
Every credit you play you earn some PP (Pump Points, i guess). You can spend your PP on piugame.com on avatars or unlocks.
First you need to register on piugame.com, then go to your profile and download your prime.bin key to your USB

Our new Rochester, NY location is internet/USB connected. However, we don't have all the game updates. I think its only up to 1.10 or something. I don't know what the upgrade process is. As for song unlocks - I think you can only earn song unlocks for songs that are currently on your machine. It also seems like using certain avatars will boost the experience or PP that you earn. I'll have to ask in another thread.
